They are definitely more than what meets the eye. Here are 24 of my favorite paintings done by Robert Gonsalves. He says that his paintings are, “Primarily a celebration of imagination.” His work has even been featured in three children’s books as well, and he has a calendar series featuring his art work called “Masters of Illusion”. Gonsalves says that his art has evolved from a childhood of daydreaming and drawing into a career of painting. At that time, he was inspired by some positive feedback he received about his art and he decided to leave the architectural world behind and paint full-time. However, after college he worked as an architect until he was 31 years old. This Canadian artist was intrigued by illusion art at an early age. Prague’s ‘Dancing House,’ also known as ‘Fred and Ginger,’ is actually the Nationale-Nederlanden building by architect Vlado Milunic, built in cooperation with Frank Gehry in 1996. In the space once occupied by the historic Rachel Raymond House in Belmont, Massachusetts, a beautiful mirrored illusion rose: ‘Mirror House’ by Pedro Joel Costa Architecture and design, which pays tribute to the original home’s modernism while looking to the future. Sometimes, it takes a nice long look at their outlines and proportions to determine where their facades actually begin and end, and how they can possibly be balanced so precariously. An added benefit of a screw free design is that it also always for super quick reed petal changes. ![]() The VForce3 also incorporates a completely screw free design eliminating any worries of loose screws, or worse engine damage caused by a screw going through your engine. While a VForce reed valve system offers increased bottom end, stronger mid-range and longer top-end, it also allows more airflow which means more horsepower. Since the petals are only traveling half the distance, they generally last longer as they receive less wear than the reed petals on a conventional reed valve design. ![]() This fact, sheds light on another VForce advantage. Consider this, an engine operating at 8,000 RPM results in a reed petal opening and closing 133 times in one second. A reed petal never truly "closes" in a classic sense, as it is always in movement. 2) Because the reed petals only need to travel half the distance of that on a conventional reed valve design, there is a greater chance of them being fully opened as well as a better chance of sealing when they are "closed". This has two major benefits: 1) The reed petals only travel half the distance as a conventional reed valve design to get the same airflow. To find how their strength scale compares to your current reeds, check out my interactive reed comparison chart.THE VFORCE3 REED VALVE SYSTEMThe unique design of the VForce reed valve system features double the reed tip surface over a conventional reed valve design. Synthetic reeds are more durable, resist warping, and have antimicrobial properties that prevent mold growth. They generally have a significantly longer life than cane reeds, although eventually they also wear out. Synthetic reeds can be a great alternative to traditional cane (wood) reeds. If I absolutely have to give an answer, I would say that in general, a reed will last around 2 weeks if you are playing on it every day. Some players find that rotating among a few different reeds, playing only one each day, can help extend the life of their reeds overall. High humidity or dry air can accelerate the aging process. There are additional environmental factors that can affect the life of a reed. It’s best to monitor your reeds for any of the above signs that indicate your reed is ready to be cast into a tiny bonfire. The system also doesn’t seem to sense traffic building ahead as quickly as Super Cruise, nor does it apply the brake and throttle as smoothly in stop-and-go traffic. There’s slight sway back and forth with the steering wheel making constant corrections even when on a straight road. But the system falls short of greatness.Ī key difference between Activeglide and its crosstown rival Super Cruise is how smooth the GM system is and how far out it’s reading the situation.Īctiveglide can’t seem to pick a virtual center line and keep the vehicle on it 100% of the time. Billman wouldn’t comment on whether hands-free towing will come with a future update to Activeglide. Once a trailer’s hooked up and plugged into the Navigator, Activeglide is disabled and won’t come back online until the trailer’s unhooked from the vehicle. Towing won’t work either, a new feature GM’s enabled with its system as it moves from cars into trucks. I manually turned it off for safety reasons. No alerts pop up, and the system didn’t disengage itself immediately. Though, unlike the GM system it doesn’t seem to actually know where active construction zones are. Like GM’s Super Cruise system, Lincoln Activeglide isn’t meant to work in construction zones. This presented a challenge in certain situations as the Navigator attempted to read the lane markings at 70-plus-mph to keep the three-row SUV centered and in its lane consistently. ![]() Cameras can’t see through metal and cars, so when the Navigator’s in the middle lane and there are vehicles on either side of it, seemingly it doesn’t actually know it’s in the middle lane of the road. Relying on the cameras to place the vehicle on the road can only work when the cameras can see the road. Without an HD GPS receiver the hardware can’t pinpoint the vehicle down to the specific lane on the road. Stay tuned for more information as Ford rolls out this exciting new driver aid.Activeglide and the Navigator can’t accurately determine which lane the vehicle is located in during certain situations. At launch, you won't be able to use BlueCruise while towing, but it sounds like this feature will also be enabled in the future. New features will be supported, too, including things like automatic lane changes and something called Predictive Speed Assist, which adjusts vehicle velocity for road curves. Of course, Ford's new hands-free driving aid is slated to be offered on additional vehicles in the coming years. In comparison, GM has had Super Cruise in its back pocket for years and is only just starting to make it available on a range of models. The automaker is aiming to sell more than 100,000 vehicles with BlueCruise in the first year it's available, a significant milestone. In the third quarter of 2021, BlueCruise will be enabled via an over-the-air software update, meaning owners of vehicles sold months ago will be able to enjoy this fancy new technology. If the Mach-E floats your boat, you'll be paying up to $3,200 for this feature. On F-150s that brings the total price to $1,595. ![]() But to enjoy BlueCruise, you'll have to shell out an additional $600 for a three-year service period, something you'll be able to pay for in the second half of the year. ![]() I used painter’s tape to hold it down from slipping, but that’s optional. You will be able to feel where the fusible fleece stops, which will be the place to fold the remaining fabric (that has no fleece) in half, pressing with the iron. Step 2- Pull the banner right side out, poking out the corners and using the iron to press all seams flat and the raw edges tucked in. Then sew the rectangles right sides together with 1/4″ seam allowance, leaving a 4″ gap at the top. Worse yet, side loading causes Fortnite to be vulnerable to man-in-the-disk (MitD) attacks a new attack vector discovered by Check Point Securities in early August. An application becomes vulnerable to a MitD attack when it writes data outside the protected on-board memory, often on an external SD card. That SD card lacks the protections of on-board memory and allows low-level processes already running on the phone to hijack the memory and installation process of legitimate applications such as Fortnite. A very poor installation process made Fortnite especially vulnerable to attack. Teaching users that side loading applications is an acceptable way to install is akin to the US Internal Revenue Service announcing that they will begin accepting tax payments in the form of Google Play credit or Green Dot Moneypak cards and that they will regularly contact taxpayers by phone that they owe a tax obligation. The damage to the public trust would be immense. ![]() Google Play Protect scans over 50 million applications daily and removes malicious apps.
